Summer Yoga Class Themes
One of the parts of my job I love the most, is getting creative and deep diving into research and practice to come up with different themes, information and classes each week of term.
I do alot of this prep at the beginning of every class term, but I’ve never thought to share them all up front. So I thought you might like a little insight into what's happening and then see how they are woven into class through intention, asanas (poses), pranayama (breathing practice), meditation etc when you roll out your mat with me :)
Coming up on the week commencing:
10th June: Ahead of Father's Day we delve into the myth of Dagda, the Celtic father god and warrior and how the stories associated with his legend can inspire us to tap into our inner reserves and strength. Think lots of warrior poses!
17th June: The Summer Solstice & International Day of Yoga - power flow, fun and connection :)
24th June: Downregulating your nervous system - slower flow classes and a very relaxing Yoga Nidra (guided meditation)
1st July: Shoulders, neck, backbends and self - compassion
8th July: Harnessing your energy - Exploring the ancient theory of bandhas and how to use them
15th July: Ride those waves! A rolling, ebbing & flowing sequence and the element of water
22nd July: Full Moon Flow & Meditation for Sleep
29th July: Harvest & the Earth Element - staying grounded and calm
