Yoga & Hiking Adventure Day July (Caher Mt, Co. Kerry)

Hiking Day July.png

Ebb & Flow Yoga is delighted to partner with Mountain Adventure Walks Kerry for Yoga & Hiking Adventure Days 2021 around the Kingdom. If you love nature and are prepared for lots of outdoorsy fun and adventure – this is the perfect day is for you! Enjoy breathtaking scenery on Kerry's most stunning mountains, meet new like-minded people, laugh a lot, relax and get away from it all with our Yoga & Hiking Adventure Day. We start our hike at 8am and we will be all finished up after our day for about 3 / 3.30pm. Please note times are a little loose for days like this as it depends on the walking pace of the group on the day, thank you for understanding.

MEET POINT: We begin our day in the Hydro Carpark for 7.45am sharp please. Here’s the location: https://goo.gl/maps/nD9rESoGN8kGfXET9 The carpark can get busy so I recommend arriving on time or before it. If you are able to safely carpool with family members or those in your bubble please do so to reduce the number of vehicles.

HIKING: Bring along your hiking gear & supplies (you'll get an email the day before to remind you of what to bring but please see the list below) and a change of clothes, yoga mat and blanket. At 8am we head off on our hike up Caher Ridge to the first point and return back to our starting point approximately 3.5 - 4 hours later. It's a moderate to difficult level hike led by our guide Maurice Walsh. It is a more challenging and longer hike than Seefin Mountain in May so please bear this in mind if this is your second hike with us. Please note if you have any specific injuries or conditions that will not allow you to hike painfree and safely please don't book a space. Your safety and ours is paramount.

Caher Hike: Cathair na Féinne, meaning "stone fort of the Fianna”. Caher highest peak is 1,000 metres (3,300 ft), is the third-highest peak in Ireland. We will hike to the first ridge only a little below the peak. It’s quite a pull at the start but the views are amazing over Coomlougha Lake and various other lakes from the top. Breathtaking views all across the Reeks and out onto the Dingle Peninsula on a clear day.

Once back on level ground we will have a quick snack and then it's time for Yoga!

YOGA: Our day winds down back on level ground with a soothing, gentle Yoga Class. The perfect way to ease well used muscles and soothe the aches. Our class takes place at the GAA Grounds (location pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xLnj3AGVTwd5f2eB6) in Glencar beside Blackstones Bridge. I hope to host the class outdoors on the grass, so a few extra layers and your blanket and it’ll be cozy as!

LUNCH: We’ve got you covered with delicious, nourishing treats & light bites! A vegetarian fare awaits you, all homemade and full of healthy goodness. If you have any diagnosed allergies or if you are Vegan please let me know at least 3 days in advance.

CHILL-OUT: Though we say goodbye here, there's no rush! Why not go for a little wander, a dip at Blackstones or nearby Caragh Lake, read your book, or go for a wander or chill out in the sun (hopefully!) and make a day of it rather than rushing away!

NOT SUITABLE FOR: Children under 17 years old and no dogs please

INVESTMENT: Early Bird rate: €70 per person please includes Guided Hike, Yoga Class, snacks and light vegetarian lunch. Please note tickets are €75 once early bird ends on 1st July.

BOOKING: Essential! Please click ticket link below to secure one of the limited tickets. Small group size so book early :)

See you on the mountain,

Maeve X

What to bring:

Rain jacket, ruck sack, minimum of 1 litre water, snacks, hat, gloves, hill walking boots (no runners please), a walking pole if you have one. Wear comfortable sports clothing and bring some layers as the temperature drops on the ascent.

Gear to leave in the car:

Change of clothes if you like, shoes, Yoga mat, blanket, extra water

Where to park:

At the Hydro Carpark location link: https://goo.gl/maps/nD9rESoGN8kGfXET9. There will be toilet facilities upon our return from the hike at the GAA Grounds, but not before I’m afraid as the Hydro Carpark does not have facilities.
