Tuatha Teolaí - Samhain Virtual Gathering

Tuatha Teolaí

In a time where change is the only constant, galivanting is grounded, merriment curtailed and events cancelled; I found myself longing for company, for something to look forward to, for connection. From this place of yearning, Tuatha Teolaí was born.

Tuatha Teolaí can be translated as Comforting Tribe. Its a monthly virtual Community of like-minded people who come together to listen, learn & share in live online (via Zoom) gathering. All from the comfort of our own homes! Tuatha Teolaí is underpinned by the values of knowledge, peace, encouragement & community – all vital when navigating the ebb & flow of our times. You don’t have to be a Yogi to join in, you just need to have a curious mind & open heart. It’ll have a bit of an Irish slant to it all too!

I’d love for you to spread the word too! The more people you share this with, the more we can help because these gatherings come from the heart – each TT will have an element of giving back to our Community in the form of charitable donations – please see more below.

How does it work?

Hi Maeve here! I’m delighted to host guest speakers aligned to each month’s theme. Our first gathering will be on the very special night of Samhain 31st October 2020 from 7pm – 8.30pm.

Samhain coincides with the end of the Summer & growing season. As we turn towards the darker half of the year, we are called inwards, to reflect, to convene, to gather closer around the fire.

At Samhain the division between this world and the otherworld is said to be at its thinnest, allowing spirits to pass through. For many it is a time to honour those who have passed before us. And as an acknowledgement of our ancient traditions this month’s theme is Spirit. Lighting fires & the sharing of food were important rituals during Samhain, I invite you to keep these traditions alive during our special Circle. Light the fire or stove or even a candle, snuggle up with some delicious nibbles & a warm drink, grab your blanket, note pad & pen. Prepare for an evening of relaxation, fascinating conversation & good craic!

This month’s special guests are Niamh Boyce, Sarah Fox & Caroline Spillane.

Niamh joins us to read an except from Her Kind - Tense, moving and atmospheric, a vivid re-imagining of the events leading up to - Ireland's first witchcraft trial - the 1324 Sorcery Trial - the Kilkenny Witch Trial of Dame Alice Kytler.
