My Homemade Lemsip Recipe
I rarely get sick, I’m convinced it must be all the time I spend outdoors that has help build a strong immune system. However, when I’m stressed or worried I get little warning signals from my body like the glands in my throat swell or I’ll get the sniffles. It’s a big shout out from my body to check in and slow down, that some tlc is needed. It’s the perfect time of the year to make a delicious homemade lemsip. Try go organic with all your ingredients if you can here. We make big batches of it all through the Winter and store it in the fridge, its soooo good, the perfect way to start a day 😊
Homemade Lemsip (vegetarian)

4 thinly sliced oranges (leave skin on – use organic oranges only)
4 thinly sliced lemons (leave skin on – use organic lemons only)
1 thumb sized piece of ginger very finely chopped
1 thumb sized piece of turmeric very finely chopped
Teaspoon ground cinnamon
Three-quarters jar of local honey
Method:
1. Mash up the oranges and lemons in a bowl and bash them up with a wooden spoon
2. Add in remainder of ingredients and bash them up really well all together
3. Spoon into a large sterilised Kilner Jar or air tight jar and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
4. Spoon 2 large tbsp into a mug with some of the juice or liquid and add boiling water on top for a homemade lemsip. Leave it brew for 2 mins or more. Enjoy!
